One Former Bill in Line to Win Super Bowl Ring

For the current roster of Buffalo Bills, the dream to win a Lombardi Trophy and Super Bowl LVI ring died on the field at Arrowhead Stadium, in a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

But there are two former Buffalo Bills that have a chance to take home a Super Bowl ring at SoFi Stadium on February 13th.

Wide Reciever Robert Woods, who was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the second round (41st overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft, is currently on the Los Angeles Rams reserved/injured list with a torn ACL in his left knee that he suffered in a November practice.  Woods shared an emotional moment with fellow Rams WR Cooper Kupp on the field Sunday night, as the Rams punched their ticket to the big game.

Woods spent four seasons here in Buffalo, finishing his Bills career with 203 receptions for 2,451 yards, and 12 touchdowns.

On the other side of the field, will be former Bills offensive lineman Quinton Spain.  Spain only played one season in Orchard Park, after he signed a 1-year contract in 2019.  He went on to start in all 16 games for the Bills that year, playing every offensive snap. He signed a 3-year contract extension following the 2019 season, only to be released in October.  He has been with the Bengals ever since.

There are a few other Buffalo connections to the Big Game.  Bengals Tight End Mason Schreck is a former UB Bull who was drafted by the Bengals in the 7th round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Kelly Stafford, the wife of Ram's QB Matthew, has a brother who also has NFL Buffalo ties.  Chad Hall, who was a wide receiver at the United States Airforce Academy before joining the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010, is currently the Bills Wide Receivers coach.
