According to a press release issued by the US Department of Customs and Border Protection, CBP Officers at the Ogdensburg Port of Entry in St. Lawrence County, New York, arrested Matthew Carney, a 22-year-old Canadian man on a felony warrant that had been outstanding since 2019.

Carney was traveling by himself on Monday, May 16, 2022, when he crossed from Ontario into New York. After inspection at the border crossing, officers found an outstanding warrant after searching the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system.

The warrant, which was issued by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in the State of Florida, accuses the Canadian Citizen of threatening to blow up Cinderella's Castle on the grounds of Walt Disney's World in Orlando, Florida.

According to the Miami Herald, Carney was a former worker at the Florida Theme Park and allegedly told his supervisors and security officers at Disney World that he had a bomb and was going to blow up the castle.

The police report that was filed by officials at the theme park referred to Carney as having "a straight face, was not laughing and appeared to be serious while making these statements".

It seems that Carney quickly returned to Canada to avoid being arrested after this report was filed with the Orange County Sheriff. Carney is currently being held by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department until he can be extradited back to Florida.

7 Exciting Things To See And Do When Canada Opens

Going over the border has so many benefits for many Americans, people come from all over the world to Canada all the time. Buffalo and Niagra Falls residents are spoiled because we have the advantage of being so very close, for most people here the border is less than 20 minutes away. The thing that I have noticed over the years is, the main strip in Niagra Falls Ontario gets bigger all the time with more things to see and do. Did you know, that the first hotel was built on Ferry Rd. in the tourist area back in 1833? it's amazing to see all of the additions, even since the 90s.
