As we get into spring and more people get vaccinated in Western New York, we hopefully get closer to getting back to somewhat normal when it comes to going to indoor movie theaters.

Regal Theaters are probably the most popular in Buffalo and Western New York and for the most part, they've been closed since the pandemic began in March of 2020.

However, there are opening dates set for Regal Theaters in Western New York. You'll have to wait just over a month for them to reopen. These dates are according to the Regal website.

  • Buffalo - Regal Walden Galleria & RPX (May 7th)
  • Buffalo - Regal Transit Center & IMAX (May 7th)
  • Buffalo - Regal Elmwood Center (May 7th)
  • Orchard Park - Quaker Crossing (May 7th)
  • Niagara Falls - Regal Niagara Falls & ScreenX (May 14th)

If you're wondering about the North Park Theatre, program director Ray Barker announced that the theatre would have a soft reopening on April 23rd. North Park Theatre is currently open for private screenings. It depends how many tickets they sell if they stay open until the full reopen, which is planned for May.

I haven't been to an indoor movie theater since just before New Year's Eve in 2019...so this is most definitely the longest I've gone without going to an indoor theater in my life.

Let's hope we can enjoy the movie theaters once again this spring and summer.
