Horse butchering could soon return to the United States for human consumption. Rumor has it, that horse slaughtering could be up and running by January, after Congress quietly lifted a 5-year ban on the funding of horse meat inspection.

State lawmakers in South Dakota recently introduced 4 bills to establish a horse slaughterhouse, and included a Constitutional Amendment "to provide for the purchase, construction and operation of a horse processing plant."

Silvia Christen, the Executive Director of the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association, said that this type of  facility would benefit both ranchers and horses that are aging.

The Elmer's Glue Company will most likely vote "Yes"!
