If you are an ice cream fan, then chances are you know this line all too well: I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream". Well get ready to do a little more screaming because one of the most popular ice cream brands in Western New York is growing

The Akron, New York-based Perry's Ice Cream recently announced that they are expanding their factory in Western New York and will spend more than $18 million to do it.

According to a report from the Buffalo News, the ice cream brand is building a 20,000 square foot addition to their plant and will hire an additional 15 jobs. Those jobs will be on top of the more than 350 jobs that are already in place in Akron.

Perry's, which was established in 1918 by H. Morton Perry and whose ice cream products can be found all over New York, Pennsylvania, Northeast Ohio, and New England, and nearly exclusively uses local farmers for its dairy products, was added in this new development by more than $300,000 in tax credits that it will receive from New York's economic development division, Empire State Development Corporation.

Everything should be up and operating in the summer of 2023.
