Insanely Popular Bills Legend Returns to Town This Weekend
The way the Bills have been playing these last few seasons, making the playoffs in three of their last four campaigns, it's almost tough to remember a time when their fortunes were not quite so rosy. But we all know that that time exists. After the miracle in the city that shall not be named, the Bills went on to miss the playoffs for 17 consecutive seasons. In case you were wondering, the dubious honor of having the NFL's longest playoff drought, now belongs to our beloved division rivals the New York Jets, who have not made the post-season since 2011.
But back to the matter at hand, the drought. Those were sure some rough times around here. But through a bulk of those years, the was one shining beacon of hope. Running Back Fred Jackson. After a solid career at Coe College, he went undrafted and spent three seasons in the now-defunct NFL Europe. And then, Fred came to Buffalo. he signed with the team in 2006, and went on to become the third leading rusher in team history. During his time in Buffalo, he was one of the few bright spots, during some very dark years. He went on to rush for 5,746 yards, had another 2,897 receiving, and tallied 39 touchdowns during his 10 year NFL career that ended with the Seattle Seahawks in 2015. Not too shabby for a guy that went unsigned out of college, and played arena football for $200 a week.
This weekend, you have your chance to meet Buffalo Bills legend Fred Jackson at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. They will be hosting a meet n' greet at Stir, on the main casino floor this Saturday, November 19th from 8-9pm.
