Buffalo police are investigating after an armed robbery was captured on video from what appears to be a doorbell camera.

News 4 Buffalo shared the video on their Instagram page of a woman who was walking down Walden Avenue on the east side of Buffalo last night.

Be aware, some people might find the following footage disturbing.

The video shows a woman walking alone on a sidewalk early Tuesday morning. As she approaches a driveway, another person is walking in the opposite direction. It appears as though the suspect simply tried to take the woman's purse right off of her arm. However, when she tries to keep it from them, a scuffle ensues. The robber hits her in the head and pulls a gun. The suspect continues to hit the woman in the head with the gun while yanking at the purse. After multiple blows, the woman eventually falls into a nearby bush. As she falls, the robber yanks at the purse strap one more time before running away.

According to WIVB, the incident happened around 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning on Walden Avenue near Wood Avenue and Keystone Street. An investigation is underway.

The woman was treated at the Erie County Medical Center and is said to be recovering.
