For most people in Western New York, summertime means sports, beaches, food festivals, and county fairs. With so many great options for things to do and places to go, it should come as no surprise that our to-do lists are full of fun things to do just about every day.

Just over the last few days, we've had the Pine Grill Jazz Reunion, the Eden Corn Festival, Carifest, the Return of the Blue and Red, and tons more things to do all over the 716 and 585. If that wasn't enough to fill your plate this week, the Niagara County Fair, which kicked off on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, did its part by giving thousands of us tons of things to do over five great days.

Thanks to the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County, this classic county fair, which has been going on for more than 150 years, continues the summer tradition of having tons of fun, food, education, and community programming that makes Western New York one of the best places to live, work, and play.

Not only were there tons of animals earning their blue ribbons, but there were also even more people learning about agriculture in Western New York, riding fair rides, eating fried dough, and building memories that will help keep this summer pastime going for generations to come.
