The 2026 Buffalo Bills are starting to look like the 2025 Denver Broncos as new head coach Joe Brady has added another former Broncos assistant to his coaching staff.
Buffalo Bills Hire Jim Leonhard As Defensive Coordinator
Yesterday, the Buffalo Bills announced that they have signed former Bills safety and Denver Bronco asstiant coach Jim Leonhard as their new defensive coordinator. Leonard played for the Buffalo Bills for three seasons during his 10-year NFL career.
This will be the first time he will be a defensive coordinator in the NFL. He was the defensive coordinator for his Alma Matar Wisconsion from 2017 until 2022. So far during his coaching career, Leonhard has been a defensive backs coach and assistant head coach for the Denver Broncos.
Leonard is the 2nd Denver Broncos assistant to join the Bills this week. Earlier this week, the team announced that former Denver assistant Pete Carmichael Jr. as their new offensive coordinator.

Brady will continue to add to his coaching staff as he gets settled in as the new Bills head coach.

Now that the Bills have their head coach, the front office will be looking at who they can add to the team in this year's NFL draft. The Bills have 7 picks in the draft, including the 26th overall pick. Many experts believe the Bills will look to add a top wide receiver with their early-round picks.
