Josh Allen Had No Idea What He Said During MVP Speech
The reigning NFL MVP admits his famous quote and shout-out wasn't planned.
When Josh Allen won the NFL's Most Valuable Player Award, he didn't rehearse a speech. He had "an idea" of what he was going to say but nothing formal. After all, he didn't know if he'd win or not.
So, when he did win, he sort of winged it. In doing so, two things took off and went viral. One was when he called out "Slick" Rick, a behind the scenes worker many of the Bills lean on to help them with all sorts of things. Rick instantly became famous and was even gifted a new car. Well deserved, too. Rick has been with the Bills for a long time and never expected to get that kind of shout out.
When closing out his speech, Allen said, "Be Good, Do Good, God Bless, and Go Bills." That instantly went viral, and companies are all making shirts and merch that say it as a sort of almost battle cry for Bills Mafia moving forward.
Watch the speech:
What's amazing about that speech, which was very good and genuine by all accounts, is that he had no idea what he was really saying.
Josh Allen Had No Idea What He Said During MVP Speech
During a press conference he held today, the first he's had since winning the MVP Award, Josh said he basically blacked out and had no idea what he was saying. Especially when he saw his parents.
Who else do you think he wanted to shout out? Regardless, it was a great speech, especially seeing it wasn't really planned or rehearsed.
Anyway, be good, do good, God bless, and GO BILLS!
