A Buffalo Man Charged In Deadly Shooting On Langmeyer Avenue
Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced that a 33-year-old man has been charged in connection to a fatal shooting on Langmeyer Avenue in Buffalo. The suspect was arraigned on the morning of March 1, 2022, before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case. Jahaan Taylor, also known as Johond Taylor or Jahond Tay, was indicted on one count of Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
On April 23, 2020, Taylor allegedly approached a vehicle just after 10:30 am, as the driver backed out of a driveway. He allegedly shot the victim multiple times using an illegal weapon. The victim, 22-year-old Andr’a C. Austin tried to escape, but hit a light pole and died at the scene. Later on the 23rd, he was pulled over by Buffalo Police just after 9 pm. Upon searching the car, police officers found that Taylor had an illegal pistol, magazine, and ammo in his possession. Taylor has been held without bail since his arrest. Judge Case ordered that he remains behind bars without bail. If Taylor is convicted of the charges against him, he is facing a maximum of 25-years to life behind bars. All people suspected of crimes are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
