According to WKBW, former Grand Island Town Supervisor Nate McMurray says Amazon is looking to build a new facility on Grand Island.

The town received an application to build a nearly 4-million-square-feet facility on Long Road on Grand Island.

The new Amazon facility would bring 1,000 new jobs to Grand Island and Western New York.

Here's what Amazon said in a statement:

"Amazon is a dynamic business and we are constantly exploring new locations and weighing a variety of factors when deciding where to develop sites to best serve customers, however, we have a policy of not commenting on our future road map and are not yet commenting on any specific operations plans in New York," said public relations specialist Katelyn Chesley. "Stay tuned!"

There are concerns of traffic, tree removal and sewage.

TC Buffalo, who put in the application, will be present at a Town board meeting on Monday. If approved, the site would take about two years to build.
