A penny saved is a penny needed for your court case. Police have charged a Vernal, Utah man with disorderly conduct after he paid a bill with 2,500 pennies.

Jason West took a big step for everyone who ever wanted to dispute a bill. He was informed by a health clinic that he owed 25 dollars. West was upset with the amount and later returned to the clinic with the amount necessary. The only problem was he only brought pennies. 2,500 pennies were dumped on the counter as West demanded that someone counted them.

Police who reviewed the matter seemed to think West was out of line. The workers at the clinic immediately called police and reported the man's actions.

if West goes on to get convicted of this crime, he could face a fine of up to 140$, or by West's calculation, 14,000 pennies. [Deseret News]
