It's been a storyline in Buffalo since June of 2021. The talk of a potential new Buffalo Bills stadium coming to Orchard Park.

The AP reported back in late August of 2021 that the Bills proposed a $1.4 billion, open-air stadium to be built across the street from Highmark Stadium's location in Orchard Park.

Since last summer, the Bills (along with the NFL), Erie County and New York State have been in negotiations towards a new Bills stadium, which was agreed upon was needed after a stadium study was conducted.

On Friday, the NFL stadium and finance committee voted to approve a $200 million 4G loan that would be matched by the Pegulas and commit $400 million at least towards a new stadium. The proposal will be voted upon for final approval by NFL owners on Monday.

The New York State Budget is due on April 1st, which is the deadline many have set in place for a new stadium deal to be done.

Now, it appears a formal announcement will be coming from Erie County Execeutive Mark Poloncarz in less than two weeks.

According to Jason Wolf of The Buffalo News, Poloncarz will deliver his state of the county address at One Bills Live at the Adpro Sports Training Center on April 7th at 4 pm.

It appears a new stadium deal is just about finished, now, it's all about making it official with an announcement.

Many fans are curious if the much-talked about $1 billion taxpayer share will be reality or at least close to it. This all should be uncovered over the next two weeks.
