Steelers’ Coach Emotional When Asked About Bills’ Damar Hamlin
Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin was emotional when speaking about the safety, who was seriously injured on Monday Night Football.
Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin remains in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. His heart reportedly stopped after making a routine tackle in the 1st quarter of their game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin was given CPR and a defibrillator as doctors worked on him on the field for nearly 9 minutes. He was taken away by ambulance to the hospital where he is receiving treatment.
The situation has shocked the NFL and sports world, which has seen players, coaches, and owners give their thoughts and prayers to Hamlin. Players from other sports have even shown their support. Hamlin's charity has reached over $4 million dollars in donations since last night as well.
Damar Hamlin is a Pitt product who was drafted by the Bills in the 6th round. He has many ties of course to Pittsburgh, including the Steelers' head coach Mike Tomlin. While he has never played for the Steelers, Tomlin clearly has had a connection with him for a long time and, as reported by Brooke Pryor, showed more emotion than usual when talking about him:
