This has definitely been one of the snowiest Decembers in recent years here in Western New York. That trend continues on Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to WIVB Weather, snow will fall on Tuesday, impacting the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Southern Erie, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties from 11 pm Monday night until 4 pm on Tuesday.

The southern tier and southtowns, along with areas east of Buffalo should see the most with 3-6 inches. About 2 inches will fall in the Buffalo metro.

But that's not all. Wednesday will bring lake effect snow showers. They'll be disorganized at first but become organized later in the afternoon and could impact the Buffalo metro. The southern tier could get an additional 3-6 inches.

Lastly, the cold will be a story on Wednesday and Thursday. Bitterly cold temperatures are expected. Bring the heavy coats!
