Governor Kathy Hochul announced the #VAxForKids campaign earlier this week.  The new program urges pediatricians, parents, and guardians to make sure that children ages five and up get vaccinated, and keep up with all boosters and recommended doses.

There will be several #VaxForKids pop-up sites in established communities, whose locations will be announced soon,  to help administer first and second doses for children five and older.  Boosters and additional doses will be available at these locations for eligible children and adolescents as well.

Governor Hochul said:

The best protection for our kids is to ensure they get vaccinated and keep up with all recommended vaccine doses. As COVID-19 continues to spread, the best armor for our children is the vaccine. With the #VaxForKids campaign, we are doubling down on our efforts to get this critical message out to even more parents and guardians.

For residents looking to get the COVID-19 vaccine, New York wants to remind its residents that it is free and widely available statewide. The list of the state's mass vaccination sites can be found by CLICKING HERE.  The state-run locations are offering the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for children five years and older, booster doses for New Yorkers 12 years and older, and additional doses for immunocompromised children five years and older.
