Team Canada blew a 3-0 third period lead last night, giving up 5 unanswered goals to Russia, losing the game 5-3 and the Gold Medal. Atlanta Thrasher Evander Kane, who played in the World Juniors last season when Team Canada lost to the US, tweeted that this was a national tragedy. For Hockey Fans, the game will go down as one of the biggest chokes in sports history, on par with the Houston Oilers comeback game.

The game unraveled 2:30 into the third period when Canada gave up two goals 11 seconds apart, quieting the Canadian contingent and the comeback was on. Russia took the lead for good with 4:38 to go.
