If you've been to Buffalo, chances are, you've seen someone asking for money.  But hopefully, they didn't put themselves in this much danger to do it.

It's sad enough when someone is begging for money.  I always immediately imagine rewinding their life to see what might have gotten them to that point.  Isn't there someone in your life that cares for them enough to help them make it through?  Have they used up all the chances they could get with family and friends?  What got them there?

Regardless of the thing that got them there, it's where they are now.

That's what makes this video so sad.  It was taken yesterday at the corner of Main and Utica in Buffalo. The man is seen kneeling in the middle of a very busy intersection as cars quickly drive past him.  He's got his hands up as if he's praying, asking for money.

If you can't imagine what it's like to be in his position, imagine how your life would change if you were the one to accidentally hit him because you didn't even see he was there.

I wrote this article hoping that someone finds him who can give him the help he needs.  It's easy to just say, "Well, they should get a job! There are plenty of them these days!"  That's fair.  There are a lot of jobs.  I've said it myself in the past. But can this person hold down a job?  And if they can, how are they supposed to get a call back from someone if they don't have a phone?  How do they prove who they are if they don't have a driver's license or an ID?  These are all things that we take for granted.
