Sorrell Booke
Booke was born in Buffalo in 1930 and is best known for his role as Boss Hogg on the original Dukes of Hazzard TV show.
Jeffrey Jones
Born in Buffalo and best known for his role as Principle Rooney in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". Jeffrey Jones has also been in such movies as 'Dr. Doolittle 2', 'The Hunt for Red October' and was also on the HBO series 'Deadwood'. Jones was arrested in 2003 for soliciting a 14-year-old boy to pose for sexually explicit photographs and possession of child pornography.
Kyle Chandler
This Buffalo born star is mainly known for his role as Coach Eric Taylor on the show Friday Night Lights but he has had roles on Grey’s Anatomy and is the main role in the blockbuster Super 8.

F. Scott Fitzgerald
This may come as a surprise to most people but The Great Gatsby writer spent a good portion of his childhood in Buffalo. The Fitzgeralds' moved to Buffalo in 1898 and stayed in the Queen City until 1908. While in Buffalo the Fitzgeralds' lived on North Street and Highland Ave and Scott even went to Nardin Academy for elementary school while he lived here.
John Wayne Bobbitt
I wouldn't exactly say Bobbitt made it big, but he did become infamous back in 1993 when is then wife Lorena cut his penis off with a butcher knife while he was asleep. She claimed she had been mentally abused and forced to have an abortion. Bobbitt had his member reattached and then enjoyed a rather short career in the porn industry.
Grover Washington Jr.
Washington was born in Buffalo in the early 1940’s and the famed Jazz performer developed his love of blues and Jazz here in Buffalo when as a teen he would sneak out to visit some of Buffalo’s blues and jazz clubs.
