If it seems like Pizza Hut locations are scarce around Western New York, it's because they're closing down.

According to WKBW, Pizza Hut locations in Western New York are closing.

The one in Hamburg off Camp Road took down their exterior signs. It's listed anymore on Pizza Hut's website for locations.

 

UPDATE: According to WIVB, ALL Pizza Hut locations in Western New York will be closing permanently.

Last year, Pizza Hut announced that they would close 500 "under-performing" restaurants across the country. It's not clear as to whether this is the reason these latest closings in Western New York are related to that.

I remember always going to the location in north Amherst on Niagara Falls Blvd. across from Tops. Back when "Book It" was a big thing and Pizza Hut had the old 90's look.

Buffalo's a strong local pizza area, so it's not surprising Pizza Hut has disappeared from Western New York.
