Police Investigating Workplace Shooting This Morning in Niagara Falls, NY
There was breaking news early on Thursday morning in Western New York.
According to WGRZ, Niagara Falls Mayor Robert Restaino confirmed that Niagara Falls Police are currently investigating a workplace shooting in Niagara Falls, NY.
The shooting happened at Niagara Metals and that it was one employee fatally shooting another employee.
The Buffalo News is reporting that the incident took place at the scrapyard at Niagara Metals, which is located on Packard Road.
The Niagara Gazette is also reporting the employee who was shot has died. Police are currently searching for the alleged shooter, who fled from the scene before authorities arrived.
Rob Shots on Facebook is reporting that Niagara Falls Police are saying to be on the lookout for a black Nissan with Virginia license plates, who is wanted in relation to the shooting.
UPDATE:
According to WKBW, the suspect is 35-year-old Matthew H. Figura Jr., who fled the scene. Authorities are searching for a black Nissan Frontier pickup truck with a Virginia license plate ULV3324.
Officials say he may be fleeing to the southern tier or Pennsylvania border and should be considered armed and dangerous.
