It was a game between the haves and the have-nots.  The Toronto Maple Leafs have it, the Buffalo Sabres simply do not and it resulted in a 4-2 Leafs win Wednesday night.  One thing the Sabres did have was goaltender Carter Hutton.  If not for him the game would have been a rout.

The Maple Leafs dominated the first two periods while the Sabres chased them.  Amazingly the Sabres led 1-0 after the first period, but the Leafs scored twice in the second period and again just 22 seconds into the third and then into an empty net in the final minute.

Casey Mittelstadt and Alex Nylander scored the Buffalo goals while Hutton stopped 41 shots to keep the game close.  The Leafs outshot the Sabres 45 to 26.

It's the Leafs fifth straight win over the Sabres, something that hasn't happened since 1972.  And once again the Sabres failed to win back to back games, a stretch that extends over three months now.

Will the Sabres put any semblance of a winning streak together this season?  Time is running out.  There's only eight games left.  The Sabres play at Montreal on Saturday.
