Know Before You Go: Details For Sabres Playoff Game Two

We had a crazy day full of wild emotions on Sunday, April 19, 2026, when the Buffalo Sabres did something they had not done in 15 years: hosted a playoff game in Western New York. It had been a long time coming, but what a game it was. For nearly 52 minutes, it looked like Buffalo would lose that first game, but thanks to Tage, and Tage (again), and Mattias, and Alex, the Sabres grabbed an epic comeback win in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Now with Game One in the books and the Sabres up 1-0 in the series, we now look towards Game Two, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, 2026, as the Wild Card Boston Bruins will come back out in Buffalo to face the Sabres, the NHL Atlantic Division Champions. This will be the second game of the best-of-7 first-round matchup between these two historic rivals. The first team to grab 4 victory's will keep playing for Lord Stanley's Cup, while the other team will go home to work on thier golf game. The NHL uses a best-of-7, 2–2–1–1–1 game structure. The Sabres will host games 1 and 2, and games 5 and 7 if needed.

If you went to game one, then you already know how crazy and fun things were downtown as more than 20,000 people filled the streets around Canalside and the KeyBank Center.

Cold temperatures and rain showers could stop more than 20,000 people from defending on Buffalo’s Canalside neighborhood to cheer on the Sabres as they host their first playoff game at the KeyBank Center in 14 seasons, as the Boston Bruins come to town for Game 1 of the NHL Playoffs. To help celebrate Buffalo’s achievement this season, the team hosted a pregame Party In The Plaza at Buffalo’s Ticketmaster Alumni Plaza and a Sabrehood Block Party at Canalside.
