Popular Science says a rare 'Smiley Face' will light up the night sky this week

It reminds me of the famous scene from Alice in Wonderland when you see the Cheshire Cat's grin and eyes suddenly appear in the sky before you see the rest of him resting calmly in a tree.

Don't blink or it will be gone

If you're hoping to see it with your own eyes, you're going to want to hope for clear skies because it won't last all that long.  They say it will happen shortly before dawn on Friday morning, April 25th, around 5:30 am.  If you're looking for it, look for a clear eastern horizon.

NASA Solar System Ambassador Brenda Culbertson told a Kansas TV station (KSNT) that of the two "eyes" in the smiley face, Venus will be the one higher on the face, and Saturn will be lower.  You should be able to see it with the naked eye, but a pair of binoculars or a backyard telescope might help to see it better.
