Snow Storm Upgraded To ‘Winter Storm Warning’ For Many Parts of WNY

You may have been hearing about this storm that would impact Western New York this week and while technically it's already here (in the form of rain), the worst of it comes Tuesday and Wednesday in the form of snow.

According to the National Weather Service, the Winter Weather Advisory has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning and is in effect from 1 am Tuesday to 5 pm Wednesday for Southern Erie, Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus counties.

That's not to say Buffalo and areas north won't get snow, because they will. Right now, anywhere from 2-3 inches could fall in Buffalo and surrounding suburbs, with 4-6 inches possible just south of the city. Areas north should see 1-2 inches of heavy wet snow. The heaviest snow will be in the southern tier.

Anywhere from 6-14 inches could fall, depending on where you live south of Buffalo and the southern tier!

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Wyoming County from 1 pm Tuesday to 1 pm Wednesday.

As always, take it slow if you're traveling. It will be breezy too, so visibility will be low. We're Western New Yorkers, however, so we've handled this a time or two.
