The Cheektowaga Tornado of 1987

Tornado Watches aren't common in WNY, but it's not as if a tornado has *never* happened here. Check out this old footage from WKBW-TV reporting on the 1987 tornado that touched down in Cheektowaga.

I remember the tornado well! I was scared of the lights flickering for a good year afterward. When it comes to wild weather, Buffalonians prefer ours in the white form!
