University of Buffalo Will Re-Open In-Person Classes This Fall

The University at Buffalo has announced that in-person classes will resume this Fall but will with limited class capacities and more of a focus on online courses, according to WGRZ News.

Changes that will be noticeable are as follows, according to the WGRZ News report):

• Classrooms will have six feet between students and
• Everyone will have to cover their face with a mask or face protective gear
• All Faculty, Staff, and Students alike will be provided a face-covering / mask
• Students and staff are able to reside in Residence halls with reduced capacity
• Students will be able to take advantage of increased options for take-out and food delivery from campus dining services

The WGRZ report also seems to suggest that testing and screening will take place and that there ill be a Contact Tracing Protocial Committee.. 'chaired by the Vice President for Health Sciences and Dean of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences Dr. Michael Cain'.

The WGRZ report also makes reference to in-person classes resuming at Canisius College closer to Thanksgiving.

UB President Satish K. Tripathi and Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs A. Scott Weber said this on the University of Buffalo website, according to WGRZ News:

"This decision will preserve our mission as a place-based, public research institution while providing us needed the flexibility to continue caring for our campus community and providing the best possible educational experience for our students."
