Warrant Singer, Jani Lane, was found dead yesterday in a Woodland Hills hotel room. The cause of death is unknown at this time but the singer battled with Alcohol, a struggle which was chronicled in recent reality show appearances.

Warrant emerged on the hard rock scene in the late 80's with thier album "Dirty, Filthy, Rotten, Stinking Rich"" producing the hits "Heaven" ,which he wrote about his newly born daughter, and "Down Boys". But it was the 1990 MTV video for "Cherry Pie" with sexy supermodel Bobbi Brown that cataputled the band to stardom for at least a short time and got Lane married to Brown. A marriage that didn't last long.

The Rise of Grunge in 1991, stopped the hair-band movement dead in it's tracks. And with it, the careers of many hair rockers like Lane. He recently reunited with his old band, only to leave again and never found his way back to national fame like his doppelganger Brett Michaels (and likely struggled with that). He often made appearances at Western New York Clubs with his solo band, having lived in Akron.
