For kids age 6 to 16, the Willie Hutch Jones Educational and Sports Program is a great option for free summer and after school programming in Western New York. They have 10 summer programs available at five locations throughout Buffalo and Lackawanna!

If you've ever thought about sending your child to a summer program, the first thing that probably came to mind is the fact that it's a great way to keep them busy and active while they're out of school for a couple of months.

While that reasoning is entirely true and valid, you should also consider the deeper and more meaningful impact a summer program can have on your child. It's a great way for them to develop skills and character traits they wouldn't discover until later on in life.

This year, eight sports clinics are being offered to teach the fundamentals of a variety of different sports including a baseball and softball program under the affiliation of Major League Baseball RBI program, basketball, soccer, tennis, rowing, and volleyball. Each program is coordinated by certified teachers or experts within their field and all equipment is provided.

The programs also include other fun activities such as heritage dance, steel drums, chess, and a virtual McSTEAM camp (motivational speaker series, chess, science, technology, engineering, art and math) that you can access directly from your home computer, phone, or tablet.
