WNY Designed & Manufactured Ketchup Dispensing Robot Makes It’s Debut At The Erie County Fair
It's amazing what robots can do for us these days. This one was designed and manufactured here in WNY and will make its debut at the Erie County Fair.
We have tried just about everything to make ketchup dispensing easier on ourselves. We started out with glass bottles and got old before it actually came out. We moved to plastic bottles. Then we put the lid on the bottom. Now we are just going to have robots do it for us.
The inventors like to call it "Molly." As far as they know, she's the first "ketchup dispensing robot" and she's going to be on display for you to see at the Erie County Fair as part of the “I-Hub at the Fair” series of exhibits and experiences. It's a new section of the fair that will focus on Western New York’s growing technology, engineering and science economy as well as education.
She's actually classified as a "cobot" or collaborative robot, this type of automation is intended to physically interact with humans in a shared workspace. So yes, she will work with people.
Look for Molly to be dispensing ketchup for fair-goers at the popular "Jim's Fries" booth.
Look for us to be right there next to it, staring in awe.
