Bills Fans: The Fountains Could Make For Interesting NFL Draft
The 2022 NFL Draft kicks off tomorrow night in Las Vegas, in a location that is the most unique in its 86-year history. Bills Mafia will eagerly be awaiting the 25th selection to be made in front of the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas.
The draft started way back in 1936. It started in hotel conference rooms and eventually made its way to the big stage at Radio City Music Hall in New York City in the early 80s after then NFL commissioner Pete Rozell allowed the draft to be broadcast on TV for the first time on the brand new ESPN network.
From there, the draft has grown in audience size every year since, and eventually, it took its show on the road in 2015 in Chicago. Since then, the draft has been held in Philadelphia, Dallas, Nashville, and Cleveland.
And this year, it moves to the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas, Nevada. And in the most Vegasy move ever, the first round will take place on a floating platform in front of the iconic Bellagio Fountains.
To add to the Vegas mystique of this year's draft, the first-round selections will be brought across the lake, to the stage via boat. This got us to thinking, with so many high-ranking NFL types in attendance, who would Bills fans most like to see take a spill into Lake Como.
5. Robert Kraft
There is a good chance that he might not even make it to the stage in Las Vegas. After all, we all know his Florida Message Parlor history...and Prostitution is legal in parts of Nevada...Just sayin'.
The Man has been the bane of Bills fans existence for the last two decades. While the Bills were mired in a 17-year playoff drought, we all got to see his smug grin on TV as the Pats won Super Bowl after Super Bowl.
4. Fireman Ed
The NFL is big on having super fans from each team at its marquee offseason event. This guy and his damn chants have been like nails on a chalkboard to the AFC East for what seems like forever. J-E-T-S.....WET WET WET! Oh, how we would love to see this guy take a plunge into Lake Como.
3. Jerry Jones
The most hated man in the NFL outside of the AFC East for Bills fans. In case you need a refresher course, he once said “The thing that Bills fans ought to know is there are a handful of other cities as well that look to Los Angeles and say, ‘Should the fact the NFL doesn’t have a team out there concern us?"
2. Tom Brady
It seems everywhere the Commish is, Tom Brady isn't too far behind. We all know his track record; he put down Buffalo's hotel rooms, married a supermodel, and tormented the Bills for two decades.
1. Roger Goodell
He let the cheating Patriots get away with their shenanigans for the last 20 years. What more needs to be said. The draft is a rare instance where he is in front of the fans, and they can really let him have it. Here's hoping some mist from the fountains makes his walk to the podium slippery.
