Listen to the Black Keys’ New Single ‘Fever’
The Black Keys have released the first single off their upcoming eight album, 'Turn Blue.' You can listen to the bass-heavy 'Fever' above.
Last week, we reported that the formerly Akron-, now Nashville-based rockers will release 'Turn Blue' on May 13. They announced the album in an unusual way, with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson tweeting a link to a surreal and kitschy video that had nothing to do with the album. At the conclusion of the clip was a graphic revealing the title and street date.
The video for 'Fever' continues the spiraling motif of that announcement, but the song is a bit of a departure. Propelled by a rump-shaking bass line, 'Fever' moves away from their usual indie blues-rock sound in favor of something that sounds more like the poppier side of U2's more recent work.
'Turn Blue' is the follow-up to their Grammy-award winning album, 'El Camino,' which was released in 2011 and saw them headline an arena tour. In the interim, singer Dan Auerbach has produced Dr. John's 'Locked Down' and Lana Del Rey's upcoming 'Ultraviolence.'
