Buffalo And New York State Get Record Cold Temperatures
The lake effect snow may be done, for now. But Buffalo and Western New York woke up on Tuesday to bitterly cold temperatures. But we are not alone in the springtime deep freeze. According to a Tweet from the National Weather Service, the cold air we had on Monday was not only hard to deal with to start the week, it was a record setter.
The cold air has made it tough to get in to the mood for spring. This past weekend, we took the family to a few maple farms as part of the annual "Maple Weekend". It was great but very cold and snowy. We hit a few farms in Southern Erie County and had fun seeing how maple gets from the tree to the table. But I couldn't help but feel for the farms who were hoping to get a big crowd after the last two years being a struggle. There was a steady flow of people all bundled up and ready for some sweet samples. I think those of us who grew up in the Buffalo area know that spring may not really be here until May!
