Snow expected to return Next Week to Western New York
Just when we get a burst of true spring-like weather here in Western New York, comes news that snow could be returning to the region early next week.
There is a chance that we could be looking at a white Dyngus Day here in Western New York. According to WIVB Meteorologist Mike Cejka, we could be in for a rude awakening on Monday the 18th.
The warm-up that we are seeing today, where highs are expected to reach the 60-degree mark with a real feel of 66, will continue for the next couple of days. Then things start to go downhill heading into the Easter weekend. Highs are expected to peak in the high 40s on Saturday and Sunday.
Then the possibility of the return of snow exists for Monday and Tuesday of next week. Monday, a mix of snow and rain is expected across the region, with highs around 40, and lows near 30. The cool weather continues into Tuesday with the possibility of more snow mixed in with rain before the warmer weather returns to the area on Wednesday.
As of now, Buffalo has gotten about 20 inches more snow this season, than we did in 2020/2021. It doesn't look like this next burst will amount to much in terms of measurable snow, but the possibility of a sort of white Dyngus day exists for Western New York.
Hopefully, this will be the last blast of winter in our area. But, we do live in Western New York...So you never know.
