Who is the X-Factor for the 2022 Buffalo Bills?
Every team has that one player, who if they have a good season, could send the team over the top. So, who is the Buffalo Bills X-Fator for 2022?
Each season, PFF (Pro Football Focus) names one player on each NFL club's roster as that team's X-Factor. Heading into the 2021 season, Pro Football Focus named Bills Cornerback Dane Jackson as the team's biggest X-Factor.
Jackson played in all 17 regular-season games for the Bills last year, making 41 tackles with 6 passes defended. Nothing spectacular, but also not an embarrassment. In a pinch-hitting role at CB for the injured Tre White, Jackson had a solid season where you didn't hear his name called out ofter for mistakes, and the team made it to the AFC Divisional Round.
With Super Bowl aspirations this year, the team's X-Factor is much more of a household name. Newley signed LB/Edge Von Miller.
PFF had this to say about Miller's upcoming 2022 season:
The version of Von Miller that helped fuel a Super Bowl run for the Los Angeles Rams last season is still one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL. Across those four postseason games, Miller recorded 22 quarterback pressures (one shy of Aaron Donald‘s 23) to go along with a playoff-high 92.6 PFF pass-rushing grade. The Bills will be hoping that Miller can maintain that level of play and avoid injuries in his age-33 season because he can be a game-changer for their defense if he does.
Back in March, the Bills shelled out $120 Million dollars to sign the 32-year-old unrestricted free agent. The All-Pro has played in 150 games during his career, racking up 115.5 career sacks, 413 solo tackles, and forcing 26 fumbles.
