The snowstorm that was talked about sweeping into Buffalo late Sunday and into Monday, was just as advertised. It dumped well over a foot of snow on Buffalo and close to two feet of snow in other regions of Western New York.

It just so happened to happen on a holiday, as today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. One tradition is hockey in downtown Buffalo.

The Sabres often play on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and this year was no different, as they played a matinee game against the Detroit Red Wings at KeyBank Center.

Unfortunately, because of the snowstorm and travel advisory, many fans could not make it down to KeyBank Center today for the game.

The Sabres decided to do the right thing for those fans.

The Sabres are allowing fans who could not attend today's game against Detroit, to exchange their tickets for a game in March.

The Sabres are currently ahead of Detroit by a score of 1-0 (as I type this), with a goal by Henri Jokiharju.

The Sabres are likely to miss the playoffs for an 11th straight season, but at least they're better and far more entertaining than they have been the past two seasons. The goaltending and injuries have still been downfalls in 2021-2022.

Sabres fans counting down when they finally get to see prospects Devon Levi and Erik Portillo in net in Buffalo.

Levi is currently playing at Northeastern, while Portillo is playing at the University of Michigan.
