Members of the house began to grumble and boo when Majority Leader Steny Hoyer announced that they would need to work on December 21st to vote on a bill that would extend federal funding.  The problem is that there are two items preventing quick passage of the bill, the "don't ask-don't tell" and the START Treaty.

Just another example of how the Federal Government is out of touch with the public.  I can think of about 2 million unemployed taxpayers who would love to be able to work during the holiday week.
