We've heard the word "Tank" in Buffalo before.  It's what the team was accused of doing to get the first over all pick in the draft.  These accusations are much more serious for this former Sabre.

You may remember Evander Kane for his time with the Buffalo Sabres.  His name is all over the place these days...sadly, it's not for good things.

Evander Kane has been accused of tanking games to benefit his alleged gambling problem and of abandoning his pregnant estranged wife.  They aren't pretty accusations and unfortunately, it's not the first time that he's been accused of doing some bad things.

Kane started his career in Atlanta after being drafted 4th overall in the 2009 NHL Draft.  The Thrashers were then purchased by Winnipeg and became the Winnipeg Jets.  While in Winnipeg, there was an incident that resulted in Kane being sued for assault.  He was also listed as a healthy scratch in a couple of games due to incidents with team mates.

Kane was upset with Winnipeg for "not having his back" during his legal and behavioral issues.

While here in Buffalo, Kane was accused of sexual assault.  The woman involved claimed that Kane " met her in a bar, invited her to what he said was a party and then attacked her, causing cuts and bleeding that required multiple surgeries."

He was also in another incident in Buffalo after being in a fight with 4 separate people at Bottoms Up.  He was accused of "confrontations with four separate people, including a bouncer at a bar called Bottoms Up and a woman, who Kane allegedly grabbed by the throat and attempted to push into a car."  That case was dismissed.

Now, his pregnant estranged wife is claiming that he has a gambling problem and has even tanked games to benefit financially.  She's also claiming that he's abandoned her and his daughter.

It's not pretty...

Kane has denied all allegations saying:

"I have NEVER gambled/bet on Hockey, NEVER gambled/bet on a Sharks game, NEVER gambled/bet on any of my games and NEVER thrown a hockey game,'' Kane wrote on Twitter. "The facts are I personally had my best season of the my career last year and was the most consistent I've been throughout any season, I'm proud of that. I love the game of Hockey and would never do any of what was alleged. I look forward to cooperating fully with the league's investigation, having my name cleared and looking forward to this upcoming season."
