[WATCH] Hawk Takes a Rat Away at The Walden Galleria

The circle of life was on full display at the Walden Galleria in Cheektowaga, New York. The popular mall in one of Buffalo's largest suburbs has many stores, restaurants, and parking ramps. It's a place where people can come see a movie, get dinner, and shop for just about anything. So, it should come as no surprise that animals will have an interest in the place, especially rodents looking for an easy meal from the garbage.

Rats can be found almost anywhere people gather. They thrive on the food scraps human beings leave behind. Generally, they are harmless but can creep some people out. Sometimes they can carry diseases that have not been a major problem in the Buffalo area.

With rats, scavengers like them, come predators looking for a meal themselves. That's exactly what happened at the mall, and it was caught on camera and shared on TikTok by user stefsstuff, as seen below. In the video, a rat gets caught by a hawk:

If rats freak you out, I wouldn't be too concerned. They generally avoid people, and you likely won't be seeing one in the Walden Galleria. Besides, they clearly have security guarding the place in the form of a hawk!
