Bills Rookie Responds To Troll Dolphins Fan on Twitter
It's that time of the year that NFL football fans are anxiously waiting the start of training camp, so we can get back to a routine of practices and games on a daily/weekly basis.
For now, it's May, which means the next eight weeks will feature some pretty interesting storylines with players, coaches and franchises.
This past week, many NFL rookies took part in the 2022 NFL rookie showcase, which features prominent rookies posing in their new team's uniforms.
One of those players was Bills rookie running back James Cook.
Cook was selected in the second round (63rd overall) by Buffalo out of the University of Georgia.
He's the pass-catching running back that Bills GM Brandon Beane has been searching for this off-season. The Bills tried to sign Washington Commanders running back J.D. McKissic, but McKissic changed his mind and went back to the Commanders, after agreeing with the Bills.
The Bills signed Duke Johnson, who is a pass-catching threat, but Cook brings explosiveness to the position the Bills simply have not had in this regime of McDermott/Beane. He's only 5'11'' and 199 pounds, so don't expect him to carry the ball 20 times a game between the tackles, but he will be used in the run game and as a receiver mismatch on safeties and linebackers.
Cook's rookie premiere photo was the bud of a joke from a troll on Twitter, who happens to be a Dolphins fan. He said because Cook was not smiling, he clearly didn't want to be in Orchard Park...
Cook responded, even though he was not tagged, and said that is always how he looks and he's happy to be with the Bills.
Cook said after he was drafted that he always has that face. It doesn't mean he's not happy to be in Buffalo, and he was impressive when he met with the Bills at the combine.
I love how he went out of his way to set the record straight.
