Luis Suarez Bites Giorgio Chiellini in Uruguay’s 1-0 Win Over Italy [VIDEO]
Uruguay capitalized on a one-man advantage for most of the second half to pull out a 1-0 win over Italy and advance out of Group B of the FIFA World Cup. But the only thing people around the world are talking about after the game was the play that should have drawn a red card against Uruguay.
Luis Suarez, who has twice bitten an opponent during a match, clearly sunk his teeth into Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini late in the second half of Tuesday's game. The call was missed by the referees, but pictures show the teeth marks left on Chiellini's shoulder.
No official statement or punishment has come down from FIFA, but Suarez is expected to receive some sort of suspension for his actions. The knockout stage matchup hasn't been set yet, but Uruguay will play the winner of Group C on Sunday.
