New York has had its fair share of sports championships over the years.  But how does it compare to all the other states?

Think of all the championship teams that have come from New York.  The Yankees, the Giants, the Knicks, the Rangers.  Even the Mets and the Jets have a couple between them.  Now, add in the NCAA championships from New York.  Can you think of a state that has more championships?

There is only one state who has more.

Recently, a new report from High 5 Casino was released that analyzed state performances across every major sporting league in the U.S., as well as NCAA competitions,  to reveal which state has had the most success.  New York did really well.  They found that we have 57 championships overall in the state of New York.  When it comes to Major League Baseball, New York killed it with 35 World Series Titles.  We did ok in hockey too.  With 9 Stanley Cup Titles, New York has more than any other state.

So who did better than New York?

California is the only state that can claim more championships.  They've got 63 championships over the years.  Nine of them were in Super Bowls.  It makes sense.  They have a ton of teams there.  The Rams, Chargers, and 49ers are all still there.  But they also used to have the Raiders when they were in LA and in Oakland.  They also did well in MLS (Major League Soccer) where they have 9 titles, and NCAA Basketball where they have 15!
