You know things are bad when you have only one job to do, and that is to stay sober enough just to make it through this very important meeting. We all have had days when we just have to let loose and break free, even if we have determined that we're not going to drink again, sometimes the day we had, or whatever other excuse it is, we will find a way to have a drink.

According to WIVB, Brain Carney, age 63 was required to attend a DWI Victim Impact Panel Meeting. This meeting is designed for defendants who were charged with driving while intoxicated or impaired by drugs. When Brian arrived at the meeting, police had determined while Brian was getting registered at the door, that he had driven himself to the meeting while he was intoxicated, Brian's blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit of 0.08%.

This program was court-appointed for Brian Carney and includes a panel of speakers who have lost loved ones to drunk drivers. In my opinion, I guess the pressure of hearing from people who had lost loved ones at the hands of someone doing the same thing he was being charged for was just too much to take, so he decided to go there drunk.

Brian Carney was arrested there on the spot and later released, he will have another court date soon. This is such a sad, but, kind of crazy story too because I can't imagine arriving at a DWI meeting, knowing I had just been drinking.
