The star of the massive international film apparently is a big fan of this famous spot in Buffalo.

Gladiator II is in theaters now. It is the sequel to the award-winning first film, which starred Russel Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix in 2000. It also stars Irish actor Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, and Pedro Pascal. The film had director Ridley Scott's biggest international debut ever, hauling in over $87 million.

Mescal was in Tokyo, Japan, promoting the film he posted on Instagram. Interestingly, he is wearing a familiar hoodie for those from Buffalo, New York, where chicken wings were invented.  Watch the video...

That's right, Paul Mescal is wearing a DUFF'S FAMOUS WINGS Hoodie!

Why? That's unclear. He was recently on the YouTube show Hot Ones and apparently loves his wings, according to a Buffalo Sub-Reddit thread.

Mescal is an Irish actor who doesn't seem to have any direct connections to Buffalo or Western New York. That, of course, doesn't mean he has none, as it's always amazing how many people are connected to the City of Good Neighbors. His 2022 film Carmen debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival, so perhaps he made a trip to Buffalo then? We don't even know if he's ever been to Duff's, though that would seem likely!

Regardless, thanks for repping Buffalo, Paul! You're welcome here anytime.
