We all knew it was coming, but dang it took longer than we thought.

With the 12th loss in the row for the Buffalo Sabres and arguably the worst season in Sabres history at this point in the season, the Pegulas have made the decision to fire head coach Ralph Krueger.

On paper, the Buffalo Sabres have some BIG names on their roster. Some stud players, but together, they have not been able to produce much. 6 wins on the board for the Sabres as the fire Krueger this morning. Ralph still has one more year on his contract and the Sabres will owe him $3.75 million.

The Sabres also let go of assistant coach Steve Smith. Don Granato will be the interim head coach until the Sabres find their full-time coach. Former NHL players Matt Ellis and Dan Girardi will serve as assistant coaches for the time being.

There is also a rumor going around that there is going to be a big trade happening sometime soon as well.

Sabres General Manager, Kevyn Adams will speak to the media at around 11:30 this morning.

The Sabres host the Boston Bruins Thursday and Saturday this week.
