Stats Say Playoffs Are Headed For The Buffalo Bills
Now that we're mostly through the NFL Kickoff and Week 1 of the 2026/27 season, there is an equal list of winners and losers from this week's slate of games. When the final whistle blew in Houston, and the Buffalo Bills grabbed their first victory against the Texans in thier home stadium in 20 years, members of the Bills Mafia all screamed the same thing from far and wide:
The Bills are going to the Super Bowl!
While Josh Allen, DJ Moore, Deone Walker, Greg Rousseau, Terrel Bernard and the crew handled business in Texas, the end result of the season is yet to come. And while we have a few months left for the final results, according to a Rotowire review of the stats over the last ten seasons, the Bills have more than likely secured a spot in the playoffs thanks to that big win in Houston.

When looking at NFL week one statistics since the 2016 season, the team that wins their week one matchup has gone on to the playoffs nearly 60% of the time.
Now, while we all know it's just one game of a long 17-game season, Rotowire spent the time to break down the data, and the numbers don't lie. With the Rams, Seahawks, Bears, Bengals, Lions, Ravens, Jaguars, Steelers, Cardinals, Raiders, Vikings, Eagles, Jets, and Giants, chances are most of those teams are going to the postseason.
The real test for this theory will come in week two, with nearly 70% of teams that start the season 2-0 going on to the playoffs.
What do you think, did the Bills show you that they had the stuff to return to the playoffs for this season?
