Hey Buffalo, Please Clean Up Your Political Lawn Signs

For better or worse, New Yorkers love politics.

Even those New Yorkers who claim to hate politics will find ways to make their political opinion known.

Voting and participating in the political process is a key requirement for our democratic society to function.

From letters to the editors and bumper stickers to lawn signs, residents of the Empire State will make sure you know how they feel about a particular topic or political candidate.

This is more so true in 2022 since New York has had two primary elections this year and we still have the 2022 general election in a few months.

I have seen more political lawn signs this year than I have in a long time and as a political junky, I honestly love to see them.

However, there is one thing that I am tired of seeing and I hope you feel the same way.

Buffalo, hear me out here; please clean up your lawn signs after an election.

Political signs that are left up for weeks and months after the election. They just don't age well and actually look like litter once election season end.

As I drive around town I still see Biden 2020 signs, Trump 2016 signs, and even some Write Down Brown signs.

I think it's beyond the time to move past these old signs that we keep up for months and years at a time.

Please join me and ask your neighbors to take down their long expired lawn signs (because we need to make room for new signs in the fall)!
