Polar Express Coming To Your WNY Neighborhood For Great Cause
This is pretty awesome and I couldn't wait to share the story with you.
The Polar Express is coming to neighborhoods and all the characters are on board and it is all happening for a great cause. A group of friends in North Tonawanda have started the most legit POLAR EXPRESS and they are coming to your North Tonawanda neighborhood before Christmas to visit you and the kids! On board is Santa, Cindy Lou Who, Frosty and some more of your favorite Christmas characters.
A group of close friends from North Tonawanda are trying to spread some Christmas cheer and lift the spirits of kids and families around our great city. They go around from neighborhood to neighborhood to visit your house in hopes you will come stop and say hi and help donate some goods to the North Tonawanda Food Pantry.
They will come collect all the non-perishable and hygiene donations and you can come out and say hi as well! This is the 8th year that they are doing it and it gets better and better! Take a look at these pictures below and see the route so, you can plan on seeing where they will be coming up!
Where is the polar express coming? Check out the map below!

So far, the group has collected and with your help, donated an impressive 19,778 items (hygiene and non-perishable items). Just to make sure we realize how impressive that is...they are a few weekends down and 2 dates left! To date, they have easily surpassed over 100,000 items with your help.
Talking to Jonah VerHague, one of the the organizers:
A crazy idea back in 2013 has turned into a tradition like no other. We’re a fun group of friends who dress up as your favorite Christmas characters spreading cheer throughout the city of North Tonawanda on our own version of the Polar Express. As we travel along 35 miles of roads over the course of December we collect for our local Food Pantry. Surpassing 100,000 items now donated, this has become something we could of never dreamed of. The residents have not only embraced us, but now we have become part of their holiday traditions.
