Habs Hand Sabres Big Lose In Game Two Of Stanley Cup Playoffs Second Round
The energy and momentum the Sabres found in Game One were really nowhere to be found in the second game of the second round series between Montreal and Buffalo.
The Canadiens played big and fast as they worked thier way to put the puck in the net 5 times against Buffalo's own amorphous blob Alex Lyon.

The Sabres' only goal came in the second period as Zach Benson got some help from Conor Timmins and Josh Doan to put the puck in the net against Jakub Dobeš. Besides that second-period goal, this game belonged to the Habs.
Montreal’s Alex Newhook, Mike Matheson, Alexandre Carrier, and Nick Suzuki accounted for all of the Canadiens goals as they gave Lyon, who stopped 23 of the 27 shots that were sent his way, his worst game of the NHL Playoffs.
The Habs scored three goals in the first period, one in the second, and thier final goal in the third period, which was an empty netter.

Montreal controlled the game for nearly the entire 60 minutes of ice time. The Habs had more shots on goal, won a majority of the face-offs, and blocked shots. Which showed up in the final 5-1 score.
Now, with both teams tied 1-1, the series moves to Québec as the Canadiens will host games three and four at the Bell Centre in downtown Montreal on avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal.
Game three is set for Sunday, May 10th at 7p and Game four is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12th at 7p.
